Greater Metropolitan Orthopaedic Institute was founded in 1976 by Jeffrey D. Sabloff, M.D. Since that time, the practice has grown to four offices spanning Maryland and Virginia. In addition to Orthopaedic care, we provide physical medicine and rehabilitation (Physiatry), Rheumatology, Pain Management, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Infusion Therapy. Our philosophy has always been to provide the best care for all our patients from a dedicated team of physicians, physical therapists, and staff.

At Greater Metropolitan Orthopaedics Institute all aspects of musculoskeletal rehabilitation are covered. Our physicians have been trained to treat the full range of problems affecting the musculoskeletal system, including injuries and degenerative processes involving the extremities and spine. We employ a wide range of treatments including medicine, physical therapy, exercise, bracing, and casting. Only as a last resort do we recommend outpatient or inpatient surgery.

Special areas of Orthopaedic expertise include foot and ankle, hand and microsurgery, joint replacement, scoliosis and spine, sports medicine and arthroscopy, and shoulder and elbow problems.
